Chrysalis

Veiled with hate
Crumble and fumble
You disintegrate,
under the rubble
There is no light
You’re trapped beneath
A silent plight,
under your sheath
So you wait …
For rebirth
The day you’ll fly
With bliss and mirth
You will be strong,
you will be free
Your beauty will charm
all those who see
And they will regret
their words of scorn
The rejection that left
Your fragile heart torn
But till that day,
when you’ll emerge
The day you’ll heal,
and courage will surge
In this chrysalis you shall lie
Sleep well my dear
My sweet butterfly.
